Beth Shalom Youth Groups

The youth program at Beth Shalom is designed to offer a broad range of Jewish social opportunities to our youth.

We offer four youth groups to address all ages of our educational program. Bonim (Builders) is grade K-2. Machar (tomorrow) is grade 3-5. Kadima (forward) is grade 6-8. Our high school program is called COLUSY (Columbia United Synagogue Youth). Our two youngest youth groups, bonim and machar, are parent led. Kadima and USY are affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Seaboard region which includes Maryland, Virginia, D.C. and Northeastern Carolina. This gives our two oldest youth groups the unique opportunity to make friends with other Jewish kids from the surrounding area.
